Instructions for After Procedure

After the procedure, the area of service will appear brighter or darker than what it is intended to look like. Some swelling may occur, and some redness may show depending on each client.  Some general guidelines to follow for all procedures.

  • Avoid swimming, tanning, steam rooms, or jacuzzi for two weeks following procedure.
  • Do not apply makeup to the pigmented area for 1 week. You may apply mascara at 1 week, but it needs to be from a new container.
  • Very important to keep all serous fluids off brows and lips to prevent scab formation, gently blot using a wet cotton ball. Clean 4-5 times the first hour, then as needed.
  • Absolutely no scrubbing or rubbing. Do not pick at the epithelial crust, allow it to heal on its own.
  • Do not use: Retin-A or glycolic acids or chemicals while healing to prevent loss of pigment color.
  • Do not expose the treated area to the sun or tanning beds for two weeks following procedure and use sunscreen.

After Eyebrows

  • Wash face with water only allowing eyebrows to air dry.
  • Apply a very small amount of Aquaphor over eyebrows am and pm (will be given to you at session).
  • Keep all serous fluid cleaned off, this is very important to blot eyebrows immediately after procedure to prevent scab formation.
  • Do not pick or scratch.

After Eyeliner

  • Apply ice right after procedure to prevent bruising and swelling.
  • Do not rub your eyes.
  • Do not pick or scratch.
  • Wait 3 weeks after your touch up to tint/perm or for eyelash extensions.

After Lips

  • Keep all serous fluid cleaned off.
  • Apply ice right after procedure to prevent bruising and swelling.
  • Do not pick or scratch.
  • Expect moderate swelling and this can last usually up to 1-2 days.
  • Keep moist with Aquaphor.
  • Drink from a straw.
  • Apply ice right after procedure to prevent bruising and swelling.

All permanent makeup is a multisession process, meaning, touch ups are necessary. Think of this as the second coat of nail polish, the first one is alright, but the second one seals the deal. This session is done 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure. At this session, I will go over any concerns they may have had during the healing, fill in any areas that may have faded or simply go thicker or darker than the first time! We go conservative on the first session to ensure the client is satisfied and then add as needed.  Remember colors will appear brighter and more sharply defined immediately after the procedure.  As the healing progresses, color will soften.
