Microblading is a type of eyebrow architecture. It is all about creating the best shape for each face. The process is very precise thanks to the tool that is used which is effectively like a pen with the nib being a blade with 7-14 little needles at the end. The needle finely tattoos/ implants in feather weight strokes with a medical grade pigment into the dermis layer of the skin, creating fine, realistic and natural hair strokes.  Microblading is a form of tattooing but does not last as long compared to fully or solidly filled eyebrow tattoos because a much smaller amount of pigment is inserted. The hair strokes are natural and fine with use of a handheld needle/blade being used – there is no electrical gadget used in this procedure.  There is more of a scratching noise, rather than a buzz of a tattoo machine. Shading is performed after microblading during the first visit and/or the second.  It is used with either a machine or a hand tool to add density and a more defined look.  Typically shading is added to the middle and inner sections of the brow.  This is a great addition to microblading if you don’t have a lot of hair in your eyebrows, you have course hairs in part of the brow or if you are wanting a bolder brow. This complete process is also referred to as Blade and Shade.
